I. Bald Peak
How does love relate
to the vastness of spaces?
Bending to its shape,
my limbs are free from quaking.
A moment self-creates:
I see inside your pores.
Your open mouth:
A testament to your ecstasy.
To admit: the infancy of models
that do not lose their meaning
when separated from a source –
models that do not lose their meaning
when standing by themselves.
To admit:
that this is an experiment
you see through you.
II. Sylvan Pass
The openness of images:
A canyon with a river bending through,
or the bison grazing aimlessly
under an arc in stormy sky.
As we drove along, wondering
"What happened to the trees?"
Trunks of silver – standing leafless –
Tiny life under their reach.
The openness of images:
A canyon with a river bending through.
III. Light of Sirius
What was that about?
The number of tries to open a line
that you could talk through
is exceeded by the time it takes
for me to want to get into it,
so now I'm done with it.
Get into it / done with it.
It's dangerous when people become
iconic in your mind –
like he is my lover,
and she is my boss,
and that is a messiah.
Yet someone new is standing there in question,
and I don't know who sent him –
or what his message is –
but it seems serious.
Like a dog on Orion's tail;
Not like a stranger passing
in the night –
but as soon as the bone is tossed,
I will be onto it.
